An orchid that will never wilt

Whether your family member has the greenest of thumbs or the farthest thing from, this 3D printed and painted orchid with built in LED grow light will have everyone wondering what their secret is.

How was it made?

  • The orchid flowers and leaves were sourced from a 3D modelling site – possibly Free 3D.
  • They were then sliced up and scale adjusted through Blender.
  • The .stl files it generated were 3D printed in resin.
  • They were primed and painted with a mix of airbrush and hand painting with acrylic.
  • They were then attached to a 10W LED Plant Grow Light which had a clip on base.
  • The base was hidden in/under a laser cut hexagon box filled with white/grey stones for added weight/support.
