About Idealien Studios

Who is Idealien Studios?

Jamie OastlerIdealien Studios is owned and operated by Jamie Oastler, a web designer / developer with 10+ years of industry experience. I have a strong passion to build elegant solutions using the most cost-effective technologies available with a preference for open-source platforms such as PHP, WordPress and jQuery.

Where I set myself apart from a standard developer is the business acumen which compliments my technical expertise. I have a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University and am equally comfortable (and capable) helping business staff identify their requirements for a new system as I am working with technical resources to build that system.

What is an Idealien?

The world Idealien is pronounced like chameleon – the more you say it, the better it sounds!
What is an Idealien?Chosing a name for a company is often the most vexing process you will experience in that business. Like most companies, I wanted something that is easy to remember and indicates the types of services offered. I also had an existing brand (the alien logo) that had been used on my personal domain for some time.

The word Idealien:

  • Originates from the word “idea” or “ideal” which conveys the focus I have for my customers ideas. They can expect to receive a product/service which is ideally suited to their needs.
  • The “-ien” suffix hails from the word “alien” and can be used both as the name of the blue alien and in plural form to represent employees should I grow beyond a company of one.
  • Had all related domain names available at the time of registration.
  • Pronounced like chameleon – the more you say it, the better it sounds!
